Seated terracotta doll found in 1957 on the south slope of the Acropolis. The head, arms and lowest parts of legs are missing. It depicts a naked woman. Traces of white slip are retained all over the surface. The articulated arms were joined to the torso with string or wire and were movable.
Dolls (plaggones) were either used as children’s toys or offerings deposited in female and children burials as well as sanctuary dedications made by girls before their passing into adulthood or wedding.
